Overview

The island of Fårö is located north of the island of Gotland in the Baltic Sea. For some tourist information, start here!

Travelling to Gotland by air:

Travelling to Gotland by sea:
Contact your travel agent soonest possible as August is a busy holiday time for the ferries between the Swedish mainland and Gotland (Visby).

Travelling to Gotland by train:

How to get from Visby to Fårö by bus:
- By HF 07 bus shuttle from Visby ferry port and airport - as announced down below!
- By public bus - see separate page!

Travel options from Visby to Fårö for those not using the HF 07 bus shuttle or public bus:
Rental cars may be picked up at the airport as well as at the ferry port. Drive road 148 to Fårösund, then take the free ferry to Fårö - see Timetable. Special permits for non-Swedish citizens are no longer needed. Continue the road north 8 km and follow the signs. The FBU Camp is located close by the Fårö Church.

Departure times when going by AIR with Skyways (the trip from Stockholm Arlanda/Bromma to VBY Visby takes about 45 minutes).
From ARN Arlanda (Stockholm International): 08:15, 17:10, 19:30.
From BMA Bromma (Stockholm City): 07:40, 09:30, 13:20, 17:00, 19:00.

Departure times when going by AIR with Gotlandsflyg (the trip from Stockholm BMA Bromma to VBY Visby takes about 35 minutes).
Airline company Gotlandsflyg offers low price flights between Stockholm/Bromma - Visby and Visby - Skavsta in Saab 340 planes. Timetable for August not yet posted, please check their Timetable.

Departure times when going by FERRY with Destination Gotland. For Reservation, call +46 (0)771 22 33 00.
From Nynäshamn to Visby (about 3 hours): 04:50, 07:30, 10:30, 12:50 17:20, 23:30. Check timetable
From Oskarshamn to Visby (about 3 hours): 15:10, 21:10. Check timetable
From Grankullavik, north tip of Öland, to Visby (about 2 hours): 12:15. Check timetable
Book ferry ticket online

A bus shuttle marked with "HF 07" will depart Visby harbour terminal on Monday at 16:30 and stop at Visby airport terminal at 16:45 for direct transport to the HF 07 Camp on Fårö. A second "HF 07" bus will depart the harbour at 18:30 and stop at the airport at 18:45 for further transport to Fårö.

A bus shuttle will depart the HF 07 Camp on Fårö on Friday morning at 06:25 and stop at the Visby airport and harbour terminals. Later transports may also be arranged as needed.
