Overview

The island of Fårö is located north of the island of Gotland in the Baltic Sea. For some tourist information, start here!

Travelling to/from Visby on Gotland by air:

Travelling to/from Visby on Gotland by Swedish domestic ferry (new re-designed website, now in Swedish only):
For travel by sea, contact your travel agent soonest possible as August is peak time for the ferries between the Swedish mainland ports of Nynäshamn/Oskarshamn and Visby.

Travel options from Visby to Fårö for those not using the HF 25 bus shuttle or public bus:
Rental cars may be picked up at the airport as well as at the ferry port. Drive road 148 to Fårösund, then take the free road ferry to Fårö, check Timetable, play YouTube video. Continue the road north 8 km and follow the signs. The Fårö Kursgård Camp, is located close by the Fårö Church (Google map, zoomed in).

From Nynäshamn to Visby (about 3 hours): 02:30, 09:15, 11:20, 17:45, 20:05. Timetable (Turlista) Connecting busses can be added to timetable.
There is a bus connection from "Stockholm C" departing central station approx 2 hours before the ferry departure.
From Oskarshamn to Visby (about 3 hours): 04:15, 12:30, 21:20. Timetable (Turlista)

HF 25 bus shuttle from Visby
These will be able to match all air and sea departures listed in bold blue above.
Waiting time in Visby may be used to stroll around the old town (and this Sunday is the last day of the Medieval week on Gotland).

The first bus will depart at around 16:30 from Visby harbour terminal, via VBY airport departure at around 16:45. ETA to HF 25 at around 17:45.

Due to some later arrivals Sunday evening, a second pickup bus will be arranged for the airport, awaiting flights SK 095 and AY 881 arriving VBY at about 18:40 (ETA HF 25 at around 20:00). Please e-mail: info(at)nordichf.org, or contact the Conference directly for confirmation.

HF 25 bus shuttle to Visby.
The bus will leave the Fårö camp at around 13:45,
arriving Visby airport at around 14:45, and arriving Visby harbour at around 15:00.
You will be able to catch some of the air and sea departures listed in bold blue below.
Waiting time in Visby may be used to stroll around the old town before departure.
Else, you may have to leave the HF 25 camp earlier (use other transport).
